Amber Taylor
Have you ever felt like your emotions got the best of you—like a pendulum swinging back and forth? Or maybe your thoughts feel so loud and constant that getting through the day feels exhausting. You’re not alone.
The good news is that in group with me, we’ll work together as a team to better understand those intense feelings and turn down the noise of overwhelming thoughts. My name is Amber, and I’m a clinical mental health graduate student at West Chester University. I’m here to learn from the excellent clinicians at Sanare, and just as importantly, to learn from you through our shared experiences.
Like the other therapists here, my goal is to support you from a place of respect, empathy, and collaboration as we grow together. In group, we’ll use techniques and strategies from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT helps us navigate big thoughts and emotions while building skills like communication, mindfulness, and emotional awareness. We’ll work on balancing acceptance of where we are with making meaningful changes in our thoughts and behaviors. This may include activities like breathing exercises and time spent understanding our emotions more deeply.
Feeling better doesn’t have to be complicated. We keep things simple, relatable, and real—sometimes chatting about favorite shows, sports teams, or hobbies you enjoy. Life can feel heavy, but we’re here to help lighten the load. When you’re ready, we’re here for you every step of the way.
- Taking pictures (my favorite is of the sunset!)
- Playing recreational softball
- Jamming out on guitar or piano, or singing
- Spending time with friends
- Lifting at the gym
