Stacy Shilling, Licensed Professional Counselor
Stacy is a licensed professional counselor and a nationally certified counselor currently leading the intensive outpatient trauma program for adolescents in Kennett Square. She received her Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from West Chester University in August 2020. Stacy has over 12 years of experience with children and adolescents as a special education teacher and wraparound therapist, including a year spent teaching English in Madrid, Spain! Stacy’s passion is helping others heal from trauma, specifically sexual abuse, through empowerment and a strengths-based approach. In addition to trauma, she specializes in anxiety, depression, PTSD, autism, and grief, and enjoys working with the LGBTQIA community, female identifying persons, and adolescents.
Stacy’s main therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed approaches, while incorporating person-centered approaches and mindfulness throughout her sessions. She believes that successful therapy includes creating a nonjudgmental safe space and empowering clients toward personal change and holistic wellness. In her free time, Stacy enjoys spending time with her wife, dog, family and friends, working out, running, traveling, and spending time at the beach.
