Susan Mayer, MS, NCC

Susan Mayer is a Master’s Level clinician with a degree in Pastoral Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Neumann University. She earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania and worked in for-profit and non-profit settings prior to pursuing counseling. Susan presently meets with outpatient clients in the Havertown office.

Susan has experience working with adults of all ages in outpatient and group settings as well as in hospice and bereavement counseling. Susan draws on the experiences of her own personal journey in the workplace, her spiritual life and as the mother of an adopted son. She utilizes a person-centered approach grounded in empathic listening and non-judgmental presence and believes all people strive toward wholeness. She understands the impact of trauma and uses trauma-informed mindfulness-based practices to create a safe and stable environment in which to explore past wounds. She believes in the uniqueness of each person and enjoys empowering clients to strive to live with authenticity. In her free time, Susan enjoys spending time with her family and pets, reading, yoga, traveling, cooking and entertaining with friends and family.
