"Providing a secure space to understand trauma and what is needed for healing and thriving!"
Who's appropriate?
The Trauma-Focused IOP program is for those who are currently experiencing trauma-related symptoms related to distressing or traumatic life events, recently or in the past. Individuals in this program are motivated to address the root of their symptoms, and heal fully from their past.
Trauma-Focused IOP Groups:
- Adult Trauma (ages 18+)
- LGBTQIA+ (Ages 18+)
Trauma-Informed IOP Groups:
- Women's Only
What is EMDR?
The primary approach utilized for treatment in the trauma-focused IOPs is EMDR, provided by an EMDR certified therapist. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. EMDR has been extensively researched and has demonstrated effectiveness for trauma. EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue, or homework between sessions. EMDR allows the brain to resume its natural healing process. The therapist will utilize this treatment modality, in addition to other evidence-based approaches.
What is the group like?
The trauma-focused IOP groups have a maximum of 6 members at a time. The group meets 3 days a week for 2 1/4 hours in a group setting, with one individual EMDR session with the therapist per week. This format allows for a secure space to better understand and further process your trauma.
