Catherine Wagner, Licensed Professional Counselor

Catherine (she/her/hers) is a licensed professional counselor facilitating the intensive outpatient group for survivors of trauma in Havertown. She received her MS in Mental Health Counseling from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and her BA from Bryn Mawr College. Catherine joins our team after working for several years as a certified sexual assault counselor.

Catherine is a holistic trauma therapist who draws on evidence-based practices and experiential modalities to promote healing. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Catherine also incorporates Parts Work (Internal Family Systems) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She has worked with individuals struggling with the impact of trauma, working through attachment and relational trauma, intergenerational trauma, and identity-based trauma. Catherine specializes in PTSD, sexual assault counseling, depression, grief, and relationships. She is passionate about supporting LGBTQ survivors and survivors from other marginalized communities.

Catherine believes in meeting clients where they are in their healing journey, specializing in treatment focused on meeting their individual needs and goals. She believes in therapy as a collaboration, emphasizing individuals' natural forms of healing and strengths. Catherine works to create a safe and empowering space for clients to learn more about themselves and discover pathways to heal. In her free time, Catherine enjoys baking, hiking, listening to and making music, exploring new parts of the city, and spending time with her family and friends.
