Hilary Cooke, Licensed Professional Counselor
Hilary Cooke, a licensed Professional Counselor, graduated from Villanova University and went on to earn a Master of Science in Counseling from Villanova. She also completed an intensive three-year training program at the Gestalt Training Institute of Philadelphia. Hilary is currently leading Sanare’s Dual Diagnosis Intensive Outpatient Program in Devon.
Since 2009, Hilary has focused on working with both individuals and groups to help clients heal from the effects of alcohol & substance use, anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma. Drawing on her experience at various levels of care she has been effective in aiding clients regain their peace of mind. One of her strategies is to assist clients in improving in how they interact with others using experiential techniques associated with Gestalt therapy. Hilary also utilizes client centered approaches including cognitive behavior, dialectical behavior, strength and solution-focused, mindfulness and meditation therapies in her groups. The combination of these approaches provides a safe and secure environment for clients in the healing process.
Together we will do exercises to develop coping strategies, to manage cravings, negative thoughts and emotional issues related to relationships, family matters and work situations with empathy and compassion. Clients are able to open up and gain a more informed awareness of themselves as well as a new comfort level in getting along with others in their daily activities. Hilary’s main objective is to help you address issues and behaviors which may have become a barrier to living your best connected and fulfilling life.
Hilary has two grown sons, enjoys working out, yoga, reading, sudoku and spending time at home with her family and friends.
