Kat Hogan, Mental Health Counselor
Kat Hogan has a master’s degree in counseling from Wilmington University. She previously spent time working with the correctional and dual populations for about 4 years prior to coming to Sanare. She has been in her role here as a mental health IOP clinician and evaluator for about 2 years now. She also works on an outpatient basis seeing adults individually and has been doing so for about 3 years.
She considers herself a person-centered therapist, meaning that she believes everyone is an expert on their own lives. Her role is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore their feelings and experiences, and work to discover insights and solutions for growth and change. Using that as the foundation for therapy, she loves to pull skills and psychoeducational components from many different modalities including DBT, CBT, solutions-focused therapy, and narrative therapy. She most prefers to work with the adult population and has experience with a wide range of mental health symptoms and diagnoses including depression, anxiety, bipolar, OCD, ADHD, and trauma-related concerns.
In her free time, she loves to stay active and outdoors by doing things like hiking and running. She really believes in taking care of our whole bodies in order to support our mental health and wellbeing and does her best to practice that in her own life. She also has three dogs who keep her quite busy when she is not working!
