Susan Stephens
Do you sometimes have trouble with thinking about something over and over and over and never feeling like there is resolution? Do you sometimes feel anxious about life and daily tasks and do not know why?
If so, in group with me, you will discover methods for paying attention to the signals your body is sending you so you may comprehend them, provide for your wants, and silence that anxiety loop.
I’m Susan, and I’m a licensed clinical addiction specialist, which means I am trained to work with individuals struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. I consider how your past experiences, current environment, relationships and daily life impact your well-being.
I help adults who’ve been carrying invisible wounds for years finally start to feel safe in their own bodies. My work centers on trauma healing so you can process the past without getting stuck in it. Together, we’ll build emotional resilience and restore a sense of trust in yourself.
In group, you’ll get to experience therapy techniques like IFS. IFS is about understanding and interacting with different "parts" of the self and is what we call ‘parts work’. This enables you to bring all your conflicting emotions about something together rather than feeling as though they are at odds.
At times healing can feel heavy, so we like to keep things light in group. We often talk about our favorite movies, novels or food. We also discuss fun facts, art projects and hobbies.
You do not have to work things out alone, even though I know you are going through a lot right now. When you are ready to take the next step, I am here to help. I am very excited to meet you!
