Carly Rowen
You know how you can be going about your day and suddenly your body reacts like something bad is about to happen, even when nothing actually is? That constant on-edge feeling isn’t you being “too sensitive.” It’s your nervous system doing its best to protect you.
In group and individual therapy with me, we slow things down and get curious about those reactions instead of fighting them. Together we explore how your nervous system has learned to respond to stress, trauma, or overwhelming experiences. Using grounding tools, body-based strategies, and trauma-informed approaches, we focus on helping you feel safer in your body, more present in your life, and less controlled by anxiety or overwhelm.
I’m Carly (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I’m trained in EMDR, an evidence-based therapy that helps reprocess traumatic experiences so they no longer show up as panic, shutdown, or constant hypervigilance. Alongside EMDR, I also incorporate practical coping tools and strategies that can be used in everyday life, tailoring our work together to fit your needs and goals.
I care deeply about this work because I’ve seen how meaningful it can be when people finally feel understood, supported, and safe enough to begin healing. My groups and sessions are collaborative, validating, and very human. You might hear me use metaphors, reference movies, or bring in a little humor to help make difficult concepts feel more approachable.
If you’re tired of living in survival mode and ready to build a life that feels more steady, meaningful, and manageable, I’d love to work with you. You don’t have to do this alone.
