To the future clients of Sanare Today…. you are in the right place. You will be educated and challenged about your current core beliefs and learn what goes into creating each of your life experiences including what you do and don’t have control over. If you keep an open heart and mind, engage intentionally in the assignments/activities, and commit to group like a class or a job, you will get a lot out of being a part of this outpatient program. Rachael is awesome!

Sanare Today is a fantastic program that helped me navigate a frightful period in my life. In the beginning, I was skeptical but I'm glad I stuck it out. I have new tools, techniques, and knowledge about how to handle anxiety and depression. I'm grateful I was directed here.

Sanare Today has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only do you work with their phenomenal therapists, who guide you and teach you concepts to get you through the tough times, but it is a safe place and makes you feel like you’re not alone because you’re surrounded by people who understand what you’re going though and can relate. Sanare Today, thank you so much for everything. You really helped to get me to a better place. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This program has been an incredible source of hope for me. Before Sanare, I felt isolated in my depression and felt no one understood how I felt. Being able to share my feelings and learn from others in the group has helped me learn to shift my thinking and truly believe in myself for the first time in years. Come in with an open mind, because you will get out of this program what you put into it.

I am extremely grateful for this experience. It came at the right time and I was able to learn, absorb and use the information and tools in the group and apply them to my life. My advice would be to listen with an open mind, be willing to be flexible and look at yourself objectively. Take notes and look back at them. Remember not to get stuck on things or the ‘why.’ Rachael was the best and kept it real and useful.

At first I had wanted nothing to do with group therapy. I came because my mom and sister said that this was my last hope. After being here and learning all the tools the therapist taught me, I’m sad to leave. Group has become something consistent for me and a place where I opened up. I’m very thankful I got to attend group sessions. Sanare has helped me tremendously.

More Sanare Today Reviews:

I came to Sanare feeling hopeless, with a new level of anxiety I felt I had never felt before. I decided to come in with an open mind, and my mind feels better. I don’t feel like a brand new person, but I feel that I learned a lot of important techniques and skills to help me when I’m overwhelmed. It felt good to hear that being hard on yourself every single day for where you feel you’re at in life is not helpful in getting you to a place where you would like to be. I’m kinder to myself, less judgmental and have an understanding of how my brain responds to my daily experiences. I feel that I will take the knowledge I learned with me through the rest of life. I will also remember the people I met in group, and their stories. Hearing certain stories and events that other people in group went through and had to live with sometimes daily, I found myself being grateful for certain things I have, admiring them for their strength and genuinely being happy to see their mindsets and outlooks slowly improve and start to perceive their experiences in life differently.

Experiencing depression and anxiety can be very debilitating. When I was experiencing severe anxiety I thought I’d never get out of it. I started attending the IOP at Sanare Today and was initially very frustrated and discouraged with the program because I didn’t understand the concepts and tools. However, after several weeks of continued reinforcement of the concepts and tools and meaningful dialogue during group sessions, I was able to apply what I learned effectively. Sanare Today in combination with other positive activities helped me get my life back on track.

I would recommend that clients come in with an open mind. You may have very high or low expectations for this experience; you should not expect it o be a cure-all, but also not anticipate It being one more thing that doesn’t work for you. Come at it with a complete open mind and suspend judgment until you have completed the process, or at least until a few weeks in.

You also need to keep in mind that this is an active, not a passive, process. You need to do more than go in and listen for 9 hours a week and then go home and do what you’ve always done. You need to actively try the strategies that you are taught at home. If one doesn’t resonate with you, move on to another. But also give each one a chance; keep doing it for a bit even if it feels foreign, uncomfortable or ineffective.
You should take notes every day and go through those notes daily or weekly, ensuring you understand the concepts and asking questions when you don’t. But don’t be concerned If you don’t understand a lot at the beginning. Everyone is on a different timeframe so some people in your group will be more familiar with concepts than you are—just speak up when you don’t understand one being discussed. After awhile you will see that there are a finite number of key concepts being discussed, and eventually you will start to hear things that you heard before and that now make sense to you.

Expect to be exhausted the first few weeks you attend group. Even though you are just sitting, listening and talking, it can be very draining and that is normal. Also realize that you will not leave there with your depression or anxiety ‘cured;’ you will learn how to deal more effectively with these things, but they will not disappear in a matter of the 6-8 weeks or so you spend there. You are learning to live and thrive with depression and anxiety, to not let them rule your life. If you go in each day wondering why your depression/anxiety is still there, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Instead, each day ask yourself what things you have learned that allow you to make your situation better, and challenge yourself to put those skills to work.

Being in a group setting can be intimidating at first. Keep in mind that everyone else is there because they are suffering with something just like you, and there is no judgment. You can feel comfortable opening up and not worrying that people will think bad things about you. It can also be helpful to see that other people feel similarly to how you do, and you are not so alone or ‘broken.’ It can be validating to apply the skills you are learning to someone else’s problems; often we see other people’s situations more clearly than we see our own.

Rachael is a very skilled clinician who truly cares about her clients. She is very empathetic and nurturing, and she understands what her clients are dealing with. While this is her business, it does not feel like a business relationship; it feels like having someone there who truly cares about your mental health and who will do anything she can to help you. Even though my time at Sanare is now over, I feel as though if I ever encounter something that I can’t deal with on my own, that Rachael will still be available to help me. Trust that you are taking a positive step in your life; open your mind and your heart and you will likely find that your investment of time and money is well worth it.
