Tim Mabrey, Licensed Professional Counselor
Tim is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor with a decade of experience in various counseling and behavioral health settings. He has worked with adults, adolescents, and children at different levels of care which include: BHRS, outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospital. Additional work as a Neurofeedback technician fostered his interest in Neurofeedback, and how brain functioning impacts behavior and psychological health. Tim earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Ursinus College and completed his graduate studies at Immaculata University yielding a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology.
As a licensed professional counselor, Tim works as an eclectic therapist drawing on techniques from Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to empower his clients to lead healthier, happier, lives by incorporating a philosophy of balance into his treatment style with his clients. With balance in themselves, they are able to reach higher levels of emotional and psychological health. Tim views the relationship with his clients as the most important factor in the healing process. He seeks to create a trusting, caring relationship, a non-judgmental atmosphere which facilitates exploration of life issues in order to help his clients thrive.
Tim has been studying Tae-kwon-Do since he was seven years old. He taught Tae-kwon-Do for 14 years and holds a third-degree black belt. The pursuit of this art enhances development of conscience, self-discipline, and serves as a vehicle to model respectful behavior, emotional control, and good character. In his current position Tim is dedicated to continuing to promote these values and to making a positive contribution to others and serve his community. He also enjoys relaxing with meditation, gardening, and yoga.
