"How might your life have been different if there had been a place for you? A place for you to go, a place of women...a place where you were nurtured from an ancient flow steadying and sustaining you as you sought to become yourself. A place of women to help you and find trust [what is] already there within yourself...waiting to be released. How might your life have been different?" -Judith Duerk Circle of Stones: Woman's Journey to Herself
Who's appropriate?
The Women's Only Trauma-Informed IOP is for anyone who identifies as a woman, including trans-women and non-binary people, if they feel most comfortable around other women. The group is appropriate for those living with mental health and physical concerns related to women such as chronic pain, hormonal issues like PMDD, relationship problems, trauma and more.
What to expect
As with all of our intensive outpatient programs, individuals can expect to be met with compassion and whole-person oriented approaches to treatment. Participants can expect to have space to check-in with their progress or stuck points, be challenged to identify and apply skills and to be encouraged to work on specified tools outside of group.
What is the group like?
The Women's Only Trauma-Informed IOP has no more than 8 members at a time. The group meets virtually 4 days a week for 2 1/4 hours. Each group day is made up of processing, skill-building, experientials and some days, support inclusion. Clients will learn to build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
A welcome message from the clinician
""I started the women’s only IOP because I saw a need for women to feel safe to talk about their specific issues, ones they may not feel comfortable sharing about in a mixed gender group setting. I have seen significant healing that happens in groups of women who are struggling to empower and support one another and learn the tools we need to thrive, together."
