"Providing a secure space to understand trauma and what is needed for healing and thriving!"
The Trauma-Specific IOP program is for any adult who is currently experiencing trauma-related symptoms related to distressing or traumatic life events, recently or in the past, and struggling with the impacts on life today. Individuals in this program are motivated to address the root of their symptoms, and heal fully from their past. Individuals are asked to commit to the full 3 months, including a step-down process, in order to join the closed group.
What is EMDR?
The primary approach utilized for treatment is EMDR, provided by an EMDR certified therapist. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. EMDR has been extensively researched and has demonstrated effectiveness for trauma. EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue, or homework between sessions. EMDR allows the brain to resume its natural healing process. The therapist will utilize this treatment modality, in addition to other evidence-based approaches.
What is the format of group?
The trauma-specific IOP track involves 3 phases allowing for safety and stabilization work while also starting trauma reprocessing when the individual is ready. The group will have a maximum of 6 members at a time and will be closed for a duration of 3 months, incorporating step-down days along the way (Each member is expected to commit to the full 3 months). This format of the group allows for a secure space to better understand the role of trauma in our lives and what is needed to heal from our past, so that we can thrive.
