Alexis Grier, Mental Health Counselor
Alexis Grier graduated with her master’s degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and earned her B.A. in psychology from West Chester University. Alexis is Sanare Today's mental health counselor for the afternoon intensive outpatient mental health program for adults in the Exton location, while also being involved in the life coaching program. Alexis started Sanare Today's Autism specific IOP track in the Fall of 2020.
Alexis has experience working with all ages and in multiple settings including outpatient and intensive outpatient, as well as a school setting with children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder. Alexis’ specialties focus on those struggling with depression, anxiety, adjustment, and autism. She mainly utilizes aspects of cognitive-behavioral therapy while also including many person-centered approaches and some motivational interviewing techniques.
Alexis emphasizes the importance of humor and sarcasm as a way to incorporate laughter and ease the group setting while maintaining a focus on goals. She focuses on a holistic approach and uses education to bring awareness to the ways in which water, food, sleep, and other areas of our lives influence mood and functioning.
