Amelia Smith, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Amelia Smith is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) leading the intensive outpatient mental health program for LGBTQ adults. They received their MSW from Smith College School for Social Work. Amelia has completed post graduate training in sensorimotor psychotherapy, a somatic approach to healing trauma and attachment wounds. They also utilize DBT and mindfulness to offer tools for managing and processing difficult emotions and experiences.

As a relational, somatically oriented, trauma informed facilitator and therapist, Amelia aims to create a container in which clients can learn to trust their own healing process. They believe that therapy is an opportunity to reimagine what is possible through exploring the stories that have been living in our minds and bodies. Amelia plans to integrate this approach during each IOP session for LGBTQ adults.

Amelia is dedicated to working with the LGBTQIA community, especially trans and gender nonconforming folks. They have an interest in working with clients who have struggled with depression and anxiety, disordered eating, and difficult relationships with their body. They have worked extensively with clients with HIV and other chronic health conditions.
