Alana Hilsey, Licensed Professional Counselor

Alana Hilsey is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to her employment with Sanare, Alana worked in a variety of clinical settings including community mental health, outpatient therapy, and intensive outpatient programs treating children, adolescents, and adults. Alana also has experience working in the nonprofit sector and served as executive director of a Philadelphia-based mental health nonprofit. She is currently leading the young adult intensive outpatient group at Sanare Today's King of Prussia location as well as providing individual therapy through Sanare Counseling Services.

Alana specializes in treating young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and adjustment/life transitions. Alana believes in a holistic treatment approach, focusing on wellness practices along with evidenced-based interventions to help her clients thrive. She utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) as her fundamental clinical approach and is also trained in exposure and response prevention (Ex/RP) for specifically treating clients diagnosed with OCD. Alana believes therapy goes beyond symptom management and her main priority as a clinician is to instill hope while supporting and empowering her clients to make lasting, positive change.

In her free time, Alana loves spending quality time with family and friends, engaging in self-care activities such as journaling, reading, and cooking, and enjoying time outside, especially at the beach!
